Uvaggio Nebbiolo
Rosso Vecchio

87% Nebbiolo
13% Barbera

66% Santa Barbara
18% San Luis Obispo
16% Coastal and Foothill regions

We have affectionately dubbed this wine ‘old red' – it is a multi-vintage blend based on Nebbiolo, primary grown in the Central Coast, with about two-thirds of it grown in the renowned Santa Ynez Valley.

These lots were all aged in French oak; primarily in 400 and 500 liter puncheons, secondarily in barrels; with ~10% of the wood being new and another ~10% was once used.

Bottling was in December, 2010;
14.3% alcohol, pH 3.55 & TA 6.4 g/l

Our descriptors: a complex and fully evolved wine; mature vinous aromas elevated by an oak component, which serves to complement the anise aromas and raspberry flavors.
